as much as a sand castle
on the side of the freeway
things will change
because you will change
and that is inevitable
sometimes what is around
doesn't foster good feelings
sometimes all we do is work
and live
and eat
and pee
and blink
and drive
and sleep
and
we forget
how wonderful all of it is
the reminder comes
sometimes late
but it always shows up
those windows to your soul
so blue and infinite majestic and deep
keep them open
that is all you have to do
i wish i could do more
than write simple words
i wish i could illuminate your surroundings
i wish i could make you taste the sweet nectar of being human
that has always belonged to you
i wish i could show you exactly how amazing and beautiful you are
i wish i had it all
just to give
it to
you

animals
will
be your guides
they will protect you
from the wild humanity
grazing this nasty asphalt
they will give you all of their love
because they know nothing more
and they, better than me
can show you
just how wonderful
all of it is.
